So I know Kevin knows about these guys, but I thought I'd highlight them anyways, because I don't know many other people who do.
The bassist for this bands family and ours were pretty good friends growing. The bassist, Jake, and Kevin were even in a garage band together in high school (Think about where you would be if he hadn't moved and had started a band with you! haha). Long story short, Jake's family moved to Colorado because of a job offer. Not too long after Jake moved to New York to pursue a career in music. Which wasn't surprising at all because he is probably the most gifted musician I have ever met.
Also not surprisingly, they hit it pretty big. From my understanding they have only been a band for a couple years, and were signed with Warner Bro's shortly before the release of the new Superman movie. I haven't seen it yet, but either in the movie, or during the credits one of their songs is played. At least I am pretty sure it's on the sound track. Either way, talk about a big record label!?
Now for the music. I absolutely LOVE their music. It is to me, a awesome representation of good ol' original (vintage), rock 'n roll! Straight up. This style obviously isn't for everyone, so check em out, let me know what you think! And if you want a good laugh, go check out their myspace page, and look at the pictures of them:-)

I like them...quite a bit actually.
That is actually somewhat surprising! But great! Glad you do.
I'm sitting there with Shelley. I really like them. Fun sound! Funny that their name is the Films and they were put in films :).
Haha. Ya I guess it was just good timing. They signed with Warner Bro's, and that movie came out about the same time. So they got in! Glad you liked em too. They are currently recording their second CD. I think the 3rd song, the slower starting one, is from it.
A bit more info...
The Films were dropped by WB recently but the band is currently working on a new album that will be marketed toward the TV and film industry to be used in TV shows and movies.
Jake was asked to be the bassist for The Fray prior to joining The Films (they all went to the church that Stan was the worship leader at) but turned them down to join The Films.
So, does that mean that I as almost in The Fray?
interesting. I did not know all of that. Good stuff!
That is crazy. He was asked to join the Fray. haha. Not really his style though, so his decision doesn't surprise me.
Does that mean you were almost in the Fray? Haha, not really.
I really like the music... and I can't help but think of Jake as a 12 year old! Funny pictures on his myspace! Thanks for the update and also for the new music.
